PRINTERS
when hiring a Photo Favor company the type of Printer used is VERY important. The better The printer, The better the Print quality and the faster the Print time which means you get more photos for your money. Professional printers produce "Photo-Lab" quality prints. Most Photo Favor companies use cheap consumer level printers that you could buy for $200.-$300. at Office Depot.
TYPES OF PRINTERS:
LASER: faster than InkJets, but does not deliver the same quality of color as a high-End inkjet. Great for repetitive hi-Volume printing in your office.
INK JET: Prints are slower than laser. inkjets have separate ink cartridges for Cyan Blue (C), Magenta (M),Yellow (Y), and Black (K). quality 8x10 photos require changing one of the ink cartridges in as little as 8 prints! (We know from personal experience!) constantly having to change Ink Cartridges and slower printing make this the type of printer to avoid for event photography! Prints also come out wet and can smudge if not handled Carefully.
DYE SUBLIMATION: The Event professionals choice. high-End printers in this Category Yield Photo Lab Quality prints. Photos print dry. A good dye sublimation printer can print 8x10s in Under 30 seconds compared to the typical 90+ seconds of an inkjet. Triple the speed means Triple the photos for your money.
